Þórsmörk (Valley of Thor), nestled in Iceland's Highlands, is a remote wilderness area where three valleys meet under towering glaciers. Accessible only in summer, the journey to Þórsmörk is an adventure in itself, with river crossings and rugged terrain adding to its allure.

  • You will need a bigger SUV due to river crossings on the way

  • The last river crossing Krossá should only be done in a superjeep and experienced driver - the alternative is to drive to Krossá a use the footbridge over the river

  • You can also take a guided tour or a bus (disadvantage here is that it doesn't stop at scenic place long the way)

  • Many hiking trails to explore in Þórsmork as well as hidden gorges
