Corniglia is located in the region of Liguria, in Northern Italy. It's one of the five towns that make up Cinque Terre, and it's the town located in the middle.

It's the only town that is entirely on a hill and doesn't have direct access to the sea. So be sure to enjoy incredible views of the coast from Corniglia.

The town is really cute, with all the typical Ligurian village features and it's quite small. It's the least visited among the five towns, and I would only recommend it if you have extra time.

To reach the town centre you'd have either to take a small bus, which of course is always packed, or take 380 steps that will lead you from the station to the centre. This effort alone is not the ideal situation, especially if you're not planning to do some hiking.

Staying in Corniglia: It's not the best option if you plan to visit Cinque Terre, the steps alone and the distance from the station will make you lose some time. I'd consider other towns or Levanto/ La Spezia for cheaper alternatives.

Day trip to Cinque Terre? If you're visiting Cinque Terre for just one day, I wouldn't recommend coming to Corniglia, I'd focus on Manarola, Riomaggiore and Vernazza instead.
