The Blacksmith at Sund is one of the oldest tourist attractions in Lofoten, Norway. It's like something out of a Scandinavian time portal! The museum and blacksmith shop have been preserved since they were established by Hans Gjertsen in 1947. The highlight of its history is when Hans boldly presented his artwork, the Cormorant, to King Olav V during the opening ceremony of the E10 (local highway) road. Today, Tor-Vegard Mørkved carries on the tradition as the current Blacksmith of Sund. He took over from Hans in 1989 and has turned the smithy into his life's work. The museum offers a unique experience, with entertaining storytelling and a diverse collection of exhibits, including old boat motors and fishing artifacts. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!
