How to book your camping permits for Manitoba Provincial Parks?
Manitoba Parks reservations are highly competitive, so here are our top 8 tips to secure the campsite you want:
Create an account in advance at Manitoba Parks Reservation Service.
Purchase a Park Vehicle Permit ahead of time. It’s required year-round and can be bought here. We recommend the annual permit (rate in 2024 was CAD $44.50) if you plan to visit multiple parks. (This permit requirement is NOT applicable in 2025).
Use multiple devices (computer, phone, tablet) to increase your chances on reservation launch day.
Refresh the reservation page frequently - cancellations happen often.
Book during off-peak times (weekdays instead of long weekends).
Explore alternative campgrounds if your first choice is full.
Join online camping groups to swap reservations or get insider tips. Sundays-Tuesdays are the best days to check for last-minute cancellations. There are some Manitoba hiking Facebook groups where everything camping and hiking is being discussed of! Simply search "Manitoba trails" or "Manitoba hikes" or "Manitoba Camping" in your Facebook search bar and you'll find some of them!
Consider venturing further from Winnipeg - parks in Northern and Western Manitoba have better availability, and are honestly some of the best!
