St Patrick's Head Track is must do hike on the east coast of Tassie, offering unparalleled views of the coast from the bouldered peak. It is a 3km grade 3 track that takes around 2-3 hours to complete.

This is not the most straightforward place to get to - the trailhead is on the northern edge of St Marys just before St Marys Pass. When driving there make sure to turn onto Irish Town Rd from the Esk Hwy (look out for the sign for St Patricks Head at the turn off). It does feel like you're on private property when you reach the trail head but if you see 'Bob's Gate' gate next to the carpark you're in the right spot.

Soon after you head through the gate you'll reach the official start of the track at the edge of the forest (which is signposted).

It's not a long track, but it can be testing at times and you may need to climb under and over large trees and through bracken ferns.

The views at the top over the coast are seriously breathtaking and well worth the climb! We hiked it at sunset however this would also be an unreal sunrise hike if you're up for an early morning.
