Ice Lake Basin in Colorado is a stunning 8.3-mile out-and-back trail that's totally worth the sweat and effort. With jaw-dropping views, waterfalls, meandering creeks, and one of the bluest lakes you'll ever see, this hike is a must-do for nature lovers. Be prepared for a challenging climb, especially in the last mile, but the payoff at Ice Lake is absolutely worth it. Just remember to pack plenty of water, snacks, and maybe some extra socks for those creek crossings!
Although the lake is most impressive with flowers in July and August, my favorite trip to date was following an early October snow prior to the lake freezing.
