Ironton Townsite, located in Ouray County, Colorado, was once a bustling mining community during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Situated near Red Mountain Town and Guston, it was a hub for silver mining activities in the area. At its peak, Ironton had over 1000 residents and served as a vital transportation junction between Red Mountain Town and Ouray. However, as mining operations declined, the town slowly faded away, with the last resident passing away in the 1960s. Today, Ironton is a ghost town that attracts occasional visitors exploring its historic remnants.
