Yant Flats is a beautiful alternative to the popular White Pocket, and actually I prefer this one. Although I state its accessible all seasons, some winters the road will be snow covered and icy. The photos seen here were taken February 1, 2025 and the road was clear and accessible by any vehicle. To be safe, I would plan on taking at least a SUV with some kind of clearance.
Most often recommended at sunrise, I prefer winter sunsets because it sets far enough south to get gorgeous colors behind the cliffs.
Drone friendly, however this area borders wilderness so you must be aware of where you can launch and fly vs not. You will also want to download a map, as once you get to the sandstone, its very hard to know where you are going. My Gaia GPX is attached in the website.
