Ravenscraig Castle, located in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, is a cool old castle that dates back to around 1460. It was built by King James II for his wife, Mary of Guelders, and was one of the first castles in Scotland designed to withstand cannon fire. The castle has two D-plan towers connected by a central block, with thick walls and gun holes for artillery defense. It's perched on a rocky promontory overlooking the Firth of Forth and has a bit of a tragic history, including being damaged during an invasion by English forces in the 17th century. Today, it's open to the public and managed by Historic Environment Scotland.
