Lauriston Castle, located near the village of St Cyrus in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, is a historic fortress that has stood the test of time. It's one of the oldest privately owned and inhabited castles in the region, which is pretty impressive if you ask me! Legend has it that it was once the stronghold of Giric, a Pictish king from way back in the 9th century. Talk about ancient history! Over the years, the castle has seen its fair share of battles and changes, with additions and renovations turning it into a grand Georgian mansion. Nowadays, it's not open to the public, but you can still admire its beauty from afar.
