Jacobite stronghold in Scotland

Message from Ian G Black

Ruthven Barracks, located near Kingussie, were built in the early 1700s to keep an eye on those pesky Jacobites after their failed uprising in 1715. These barracks saw some action during the Jacobite rebellions, holding off attacks in 1745 but eventually surrendering in 1746. They're perched on a hill, making them pretty hard to miss from miles around. So, if you're into Scottish history or just love a good old fortress, Ruthven Barracks is definitely worth checking out!
