Seki Onsen Ski Area, located in Myoko Kogen, Japan, is a hidden gem for powder hounds and snow enthusiasts. With its charming traditional Japanese village vibe and epic snow conditions, Seki Onsen offers a unique and authentic skiing experience.

The thing I absolutely love the most about this place is that it is family owned and run. The husband and wife owners actually sell you the tickets at the sales window. Every time I go there he says "the snow will be good tomorrow, too!" with a smile. Don't worry, sir. I will be back!

On a powder day, this place is unmatched. There are only two lifts at this mini ski area but trust me, it's all you need as your legs will burn. In fact, the higher lift is regularly closed on powder days because the snow is too high. It usually opens a day or two later which is a prime time to visit.

This place can get busy on big powder days because it is popular with locals who know. Sometimes you get lucky and have it all to yourself. I would say it's worth a shot!
