I regularly stop at Matsumi Shokudo when I'm in the area. The food is really great, the owners are friendly, and the atmosphere is local. It's a cozy family-run eatery in Yudanaka, Japan, known for its hearty portions and delicious dishes.
The star of the menu is the Katsu Don, available in regular and large sizes. Even the regular serving is pretty filling, while the large portion is seriously massive. There's even an eating challenge for the Katsu Curry and photos of the people who completed the challenge are posted on the walls around the restautant.
Two other things stand out to me - the old school door closing mechanism and Doc from Back to the Future has a signed photo on the wall. Love that movie!
