The Tower of London is a must-see tourist attraction in the heart of the busy city. Built in the 11th century by William the Conqueror, it has served as a royal palace, prison, and even an armoury over the centuries. In recent years, tourists have been enthralled by its mystery and history, and can immerse themselves in its maze-like corridors and defensive walls which were once the residence of English royalty including monarchs such as Henry III, Elizabeth I, and Anne Boleyn. Visitors can explore the Tower’s many interactive exhibits, step into the past with historical reenactments and exciting activities such as the Yeoman Warder tours and can even get up close to an iconic namesake raised from the Tower’s moat – the ravens!
