Kamnik is one of the most beautiful and historic towns in Slovenia. Located in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, it has a rich heritage that dates back to 1229 and a unique culture. Home to two castles, Mali grad and Stari grad, and a Franciscan Library boasting 10,000 volumes of books, the town offers plenty for visitors to explore. Notable attractions include the Šutna Street, the birthplace of Rudolf Maister, Zaprice Manor housing Kamnik Regional Museum, and Monastery Mekinje. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy cycling, wilderness hikes, and breathtaking views from the top of Stari grad Hill.
