Ioannina, a city in northwestern Greece, is known for its rich history and cultural heritage. Founded in the 6th century AD, it flourished during the late Byzantine period and became a center of the Greek Enlightenment in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Ioannina is a great city to stop by and explore a little more of it, it is home to the extraordinary Perama cave and Lake Pamvotida is the city's heart.

Surrendered to the Ottomans in 1430, Ioannina was later ceded to Greece in 1913. With a population of around 64,896 residents, it boasts green areas, parks, and historical landmarks like the Ioannina Castle. The city is also home to the University of Ioannina and two major hospitals, making it a vibrant hub in Epirus.
