Shangri-La is served by a small regional airport that handles flights to other Western China destinations like Chengdu, Kunming, and Chongqing.

The altitude and the mountains can make flight times irregular but it is often the most direct way to get here.

IF a flight is cancelled or delayed significantly, I'd suggest getting the refund and hopping on the train to Lijiang or Kunming and changing onto a flight there as they are more stable and serve more locations.
