What you’ll do

A trip to The Royal Mews in London is a really lovely thing to do. The carriages are amazing and you can get up really close and personal. You can see the actual carriages that are used for the major events, such as The King's Coronation, you can see the Queen's car, you can see some of the horses.

The Royal Mews is a working stable. You'll be offered a guided tour if you'd like one, which is all part of it, with one of the wardens. They are super friendly and chatty. Or you can listen to the audio guide as you wander around too or just read the information and take lots of photos of these amazing carriages.

There's a lovely gift shop, selling all sort of souvenirs that you can visit, really pretty things and gifts to take home.

Afterwards walk across the road and directly opposite The Royal Mews, you will see The Rubens at The Palace Hotel. This is one of my favourite hotels (as it's part of the Red Carnation group) where the service and staff are always just lovely!

If you wanted to enjoy a full afternoon tea with all the trimmings, you can enjoy a fabulous afternoon tea here. OR perhaps you'd prefer a cream tea, which is less expensive and is a pot of tea with two scones, clotted (delicious) cream and jams. This is £25, so more affordable and is perfect!

Head to The New York Bar at The Rubens at The Palace and enjoy this delight.

What a super way to spend an afternoon.
