It's probably one of the coziest museums I've ever visited. It's essentially a Kayabuki house, similar to many others in the village, but you can enter this one and get a glimpse of what rural life in Japan was like back in the day.

Tip: There's a passage that leads to some fascinating artifacts that most people seem to miss. When you're in the first room, which is also the largest (with tatami floor), facing the panoramic opening in the wall (to the garden), you'll have the option to turn right into the room with the bath. BUT, if you turn to the left, you'll find a small corridor leading to another petite house showcasing some remarkable old kimonos and samurai armor (also, there's a very narrow staircase in that room that's easy to overlook, make sure to check it out, and please be cautious on those stairs – you'll understand once you're there 😅).
