Message from Kieran - Exploring Scotland

Scotland v England,  30th November 1872

The first-ever international football match took place on 30 November 1872 between Scotland and England at Hamilton Crescent in Glasgow. With 4,000 spectators in attendance, the game ended in a goalless draw. The Scottish team, mainly composed of Queen's Park players, showcased their teamwork and skill, while the English side featured players from nine different clubs. Despite the lack of goals, the match was praised for its spirited play and marked the beginning of a historic rivalry between the two nations on the football field.
