If you're planning a trip to Aruba, you absolutely cannot miss the opportunity to go snorkeling or diving! The island offers breathtaking underwater locations just waiting to be explored. In this post, I'll share with you some of my personal favorite spots.

Before we embark on our exploration of these stunning spots, let's remember the importance of preserving Aruba's environment and wildlife. To contribute positively, please maintain a respectful distance from underwater creatures like turtles, refrain from touching or removing anything from the underwater ecosystem, and avoid feeding fish bread. This way we can protect and cherish the natural wonders of Aruba together.

1. Mangel Halto

Mangel Halto is famous for its picturesque mangroves and vibrant coral. You have the option to venture into the water independently or join a guided tour to discover the fascinating underwater world. There's plenty to explore, including a shipwreck situated at a depth of 12 meters that some individuals even free dive to.

If you're not a strong swimmer, it's advisable to avoid venturing too far from the shore. The currents can be strong in this area as you move further out.

2. Tres Trapi Beach

Tres Trapi doesn't have a traditional white sand beach, but rather a cove embraced by rocks, offering access to the water via stairs. The crystal-clear water at this spot presents a remarkable sight, especially in the morning when you can observe turtles feasting on sea grass just a short distance from the shore. If luck is on your side, you might even catch sight of sea stars or mantas in the area.

Remember to give the turtles ample space and refrain from chasing them. It's crucial to allow them the opportunity to surface for air without disturbance.

3. Baby Beach

Baby Beach is renowned as a beloved beach destination for families, offering shallow, crystal-blue waters. It is also a delightful spot for snorkeling, where you have the chance to encounter various fish and, if luck is on your side, even spot turtles.

However, it's important to exercise caution and avoid venturing too far from the bay, as the currents beyond the beach can be hazardous. If you're unsure about the ideal snorkeling areas, don't hesitate to seek guidance from the friendly locals working on the beach. They'll be more than happy to assist you and provide valuable insights.

4. Boca Catalina Beach

Boca Catalina Beach, located near Tres Trapi, is a local favorite known for its crystal-clear waters. You can easily enter the water from the beach and explore the underwater world. A fun fact is that you can even swim from Boca Catalina Beach to Tres Trapi Beach.

If you want to have a great snorkeling experience, swim towards the right after entering the water. There, you'll find a variety of colorful coral and fish, making it an exciting sight.

5. Antilla Shipwreck

Discover the magnificent Antilla Shipwreck, the largest in the Caribbean! It offers a breathtaking location for snorkeling and diving, with its visible coral and vibrant fish. Since the wreck is located far from the shore and the waters can be rough, it's recommended to join a boat tour, such as the snorkeling cruise by Jolly Pirates.

I hope you get the chance to visit these incredible snorkeling spots soon yourself!
