Factory Butte is a marvel that must be seen to be believed. This sandstone peak towers above the wild and rocky Caineville badlands in Torrey, Utah, seeming deeply entrenched in the ground like a very old rock stump. Despite the barren look of the terrain, visitors may find a free campground as well as other treasures. Factory Butte is a perfect stop for photographers; the scenery is striking on an overcast afternoon, with its root-like combs, crags, and shoulders snaking up to the hilltop, but it will be particularly surreal at sunset. If visiting, be sure to take advantage of the nearby activities like the Swing Arm City off-roading area. Although Factory Butte is famous for its OHV areas, few realize that the area is also a popular site to view wildflowers in the spring when Factory Butte is in full bloom. These blooming fields provide a stunning foreground for the North Caineville Mesa and Factory Butte formations.

Primitive camping is available in the area, and there is a restroom on Factory Butte road. The only issue is the dust, heat, and you will hear motorized vehicles all day. Offroad RV Resort is located approximately 2.5 miles East of the entrance to Factory Butte road and Swingarm City OHV area. There are no developed camping facilities within the Factory Butte SRMA. Feel free to camp wherever your truck stops within the OHV open areas.
