The Best of Charleston

What you’ll do

The itinerary possibilities in Charleston are ENDLESS. There are seriously so many things to do and places to try - it feels impossible to fit it all into one trip. If you have 10 days though, you can do the city proper justice in one trip (especially if it's during the warmer months). If you want to know what all the best spots are - where to eat, what to do, which drinks to order, then this guide is for you.

*Please note, this itinerary is intended to start on a Saturday, due to how brunch services fall; however, feel free to shorten and rearrange as you plan your trip.

I never like rushing down to Charleston. It's such a low key city - I like to get into the mindset of relaxing before I arrive. I'll typically mosey on down and aim to get there at 11AM - just in time for lunch. If I get there before lunch though, I'll grab a coffee or tea to kick things off.

After lunch, Firefly Distillery is right across the street. Often on weekends, they have some live music. There's tons of outdoor seating. And they do tastings of their different spirits - like the sweet tea vodka (which they invented). After the distillery, I'll head over to the hotel and check in.

Before Dinner - especially during warmer months - I love to go to the Caviar Bar at Zero George. It's outdoors on a covered veranda, where you can enjoy a fantastic caviar service, champagne, and more. If you're fortunate to have a late dinner that night - I encourage you to double up. They have a burger on their a la carte menu, which you can only order from if you're indulging in the caviar service. It's a smash burger called "The Royale with Cheese" which is covered in black truffle. It is to die for.

After the Caviar Bar, head over to Legami for an incredible dinner. If you indulged on the heavy side already, Legami is great because they have a bunch of sharable small plates - or you could skip the small plates and just do entrees and dessert here. The whole menu is excellent (and the cocktails are phenomenal).

If you aren't ready to go home yet, and it's before 10PM, head by The Palmetto Hotel for the BEST espresso martini in town, and one of my all time favorites - It's topped with a dulce de leche foam that will make you want to drink 10. But please don't overindulge.
