Great Falls Park is a cool spot just 15 miles from DC where the Potomac River gets all wild and tumbles over rocks in a place called Mather Gorge. You can check out the old Patowmack Canal and learn some history while soaking up nature in this 800-acre park. Just remember, no swimming or wading 'cause those river currents are serious business!
