Enjoy the breathtaking views of Eastern Switzerland and Liechtenstein from the Säntis, a legendary mountain range located in the area. The Säntis offers an unforgettable journey by aerial cable car, which takes ten minutes, allowing you to experience the beautiful natural landscape and take in panoramic views over six countries.

But, there is quite a few way up there if you feeling adventurous and up for some challenge. HIKING Säntis is not for everyone! are you up for it ?

HIKE DETAILS:

Start: Wasserauen train station. From there you will head to the famous Seealpsee. Once you reach the lake continue towards the back of the valley. There are signs to guide you.

Your next destination is Mesmeralp where you can take a breather and stop for lunch or a refreshment at the Berggasthaus Mesmer.

From here you are hiking towards Säntis, the peak constantly in view, motivating you to keep going.

The hike is 11 km with 1600 + meters of elevation so it is considered hard.

The views are incredible all along and once you reach the top, you will have a unique panoramic view over 6 countries ( on a clear day) Lake Constance and the Alps. They have a panoramic terrace where you can enjoy your lunch with the views.

Tip: after arriving the top, take the cable car down to save your knees.

Tip2: keep your eyes open, this area is very favoured by ibexes and mountain goats.
