Here's your day-by-day guide to experiencing the magic of Lofoten from the comfort of your van.

Note that Norway has "Freedom to Roam" meaning you can legally park your van for free in many spots, as long as you are not in a private residence and there isn't a no camping sign. Please be respectful and mindful of others when choosing your overnight destinations. I have included paid campgrounds in this guide so you have peace of mind, but feel free to explore and find your own free campsites if you choose!

Today you will arrive in Bodo! The first day depends on what time you arrive in Bodo. Depending on where you are coming from, I recommend flying in the day before and spending the first night in a hotel before catching the ferry to Lofoten so you can take an early ferry out the next morning. This allows for some R&R after the long journey!

MAKE SURE TO PRE-BOOK YOUR FERRY (atleast 2 weeks in advance) Head to the Bodo Ferry Terminal in town to take your final journey to the Lofoten Islands. Take the Bodo-Moskenes Ferry which is about 3.5-4 hours.
