The Baroque Italian garden of Isola Bella is an absolute must-visit on Lake Maggiore. It's part of Palazzo Borromeo and in order to visit you'll have to get a ticket to visit Isola Bella.
The garden was made to complement the palace. The entrance is through the Atrio di Diana, a small courtyard linking the palace to the garden.
You'll have to do some stairs in order to reach the garden, but they are not that many.
The garden is dominated by the Teatro Massimo, a stunning truncated pyramid like structure with statues, fountains and flowers. Make sure to head to the top, in order to enjoy an incredible view over Lake Maggiore.
As it's an Italian garden, everything is very symmetrical and incredible to look at. Everything is curated to the highest detail, like in the Garden of Love, located right behind Teatro Massimo.
Head to Torre della Noria to enjoy a coffee or a drink in this wonderful garden. Even though it's not very budget-friendly, it's something to do in my opinion.
You cal also explore a small greenhouse, which shelters rare plants and botanical curiosities.
The garden of Palazzo Borromeo is my favourite part of the whole Isole Borromee area, and I'm sure you'll love it too!
