Waking up early has never felt so rewarding. One of my favourite things to do is heading out to Alila Ubud just for breakfast. Even if you’re not staying at the resort, it’s totally worth the visit.
Perched on a hillside above the Ayung River, the Plantation Restaurant serves up a beautiful breakfast spread with one of the best jungle views in Ubud. You’re surrounded by nothing but palm trees, birdsong and misty forest—it’s incredibly peaceful and feels a world away from the busy streets of Bali.
The breakfast itself is next level. You get an elegant mix of tasting-style portions, blending local Balinese dishes like Nasi Merah with fresh pastries, tropical fruits, and Western options done really well. Everything’s made with locally sourced produce, and you can tell the difference in the flavour.
It’s a bit of a treat at 300k IDR per person, but honestly, for the setting and the quality, it feels fair. You’re not just paying for food—you’re getting a whole experience.
If you’re after a special way to start the day in Ubud, this place is hard to top.
