The Galle Lighthouse in Sri Lanka is the country's oldest light station, located within the historic Galle Fort. Originally built by the British in 1848, it was later reconstructed in 1939 after being destroyed by fire. Standing at 26.5 meters high, this cylindrical tower with a white lantern provides a guiding light visible up to 47 nautical miles away. Operated by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, the lighthouse offers a picturesque view and adds to the charm of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
