Namibian's Sandhof Farm near the town of Maltahohe is home to a stunning site, the Bushveld vlei lilies, every December and January. Its bright pink petals open up fully at midday, giving off a sweet scent. The Crinum paludosum are only observable when good rains provide the clay pan with 30cm of water, a rare event that happened twice in 2020 and 2021. Visitors from Germany, South Africa, Belgium, and the United Kingdom came to take in the beauty of this rare spectacle. The Morgan family welcomed all guests upon arrival and ran the farm from sunrise to sunset.
