Bwabwata National Park is a protected area in northeastern Namibia that covers over 6,000 square kilometers. It was created by merging Caprivi Game Park and Mahango Game Reserve. An abundant variety of wildlife – including African elephants, Cape buffalo, hippopotamus, sable antelope and more – pass through the park, making it an exciting stop for visitors. The park also features activities such as game drives, boat trips, walks, and community-operated campsites with lodges outside on the border. Bwabwata forms a crucial trans-boundary link for biodiversity protection, and involves local communities in its planning and management. A managed burning programme helps preserve existing organic matter while allowing fires to occur in moderation. With its diverse animal life, beautiful scenery, and tremendous success in conserving nature,Bwabwata offers a truly memorable outdoor experience.
