MOUNTAIN HUT CAMPSITE

Like all mountain huts, this campsite offers limited facilities (very remote)

Landmannahellir in Landmannaafréttur has long been a destination point for travellers passing through the area. The name of the place is drawn from a cave there which was used for centuries to shelter both men and horses.

At Landmannahellir there is a nice camping site and a site for house vans, camping wagons, a lavatory, an outdoor grill, and possibilities to go trout angling in the magnificent neighbouring lakes.The tourist service and accommodation centre is open from middle of June to early September. Landmannahellir is easily accessible for those on riding tours in the mountains, and there are good facilities for horses and tourists.

Prices:
- 2.000 ISK per person (the same price for house vans and camping wagons).
- Parking of a car on the campsite 2.000 ISK.
(It is also possible to park the car outside the camp site.)
- No charge for children up to 12 years.
- Shower: 700 ISK per person each time.
- Charging the batteries: 500 ISK
- WC (300 ISK if you are camping there, 500 ISK if you are not staying)
