Markarfljótsgljúfur Canyon is a hidden gem in Iceland's Southern Highlands, known for its stunning natural beauty. While not as popular as other canyons in the country, its deep gorge and 4 km stretch make it a great spot for hikers.

However it is quite a challenging drive to get there, bigger SUV and research of the route advisable.

The trails there are also poorly marked and often disappearing.
