Message from Jan In Iceland

Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach is a stunning spot on Iceland's South Coast, known for its black sand and towering basalt stack. You might also be able to see some puffins here.

⚠️ Warning : This places is known for its dangerous ,,sneaker waves'' which has claimed lives of people in the past. Do not get close to the water, they come without a warning and you can not outrun them!

🅿️ Paid parking (Parka App) : P1 lower parking 1.000 isk, P2 upper parking 750 isk (about 5 min walk to the beach)

💡 Tip : It can get very busy, best to visit in early morning or late evening to avoid crowds.

🥾 Hike : You can also hike to the cliffs above the beach. It's an easy hike from Vík, great way to avoid crowds & the view is 100% worth it.
