Sundhöllin is Reykjavik's oldest public swimming pool, dating back to 1937. The building itself is an interesting piece of architecture, featuring Art Deco details and beautiful tile work.
There is an inside pool and many outdoor hot tubs for you to choose from. Swimming is a beloved pastime in Iceland, and Sundhöllin is a great place to experience this part of Icelandic culture. Like other pools in Iceland, it also has a cold plunge pool.
I feel that this is a great replace to relax in the downtown area after a day of exploring in the countryside or in the city. Plus, many locals come here so you can mingle with them, if you want, or just relax.
