One of the highlights of Arnarstapi is its stunning coastal landscape.
The village is surrounded by sea cliffs, rugged coastline, and the sea, making it the perfect destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. You can take a walk along the cliffs and enjoy the breathtaking views, the thriving birdlife or simply sit back and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
You can visit the nearby Gatklettur Arch, which is a natural stone arch that has been sculpted by the relentless power of the ocean over thousands of years. You can also explore the ruins of the old fishing village of Hellnar, which was once a thriving center for the Icelandic fishing industry.
One of my favorite stops is by the Bárða Snæfellsá stone sculpture. The peninsula is named after this half ogre half human, who is considered the area’s guardian spirit.
