Vík is a small town that has become a well-known rest stop in the South Coast. You can walk along the black sand beach (which is much less quiet on this side), eat at one of the restaurants, fuel up your car, and do fun activities.

The church on the top of the hill is a great vantage point for seeing the town. It's also where people in the town are instructed to go in the event of a volcanic eruption!

This town is also a great place to stay overnight, if you plan to explore the area and/or go farther around the ring road.
