Normally people would flock to Iceland, New Zealand, or even New Hampshire to see fields of wild lupine. But you can also find wild lupine blooming around Keene Valley (albeit on a much smaller scale).
Lupines bloom in a bunch of yards and along the roadside on Routes 73 and 86. Blooms are generally at their best around the first two weeks in June, so if you're in the area around then, I'd keep your eyes peeled.
You'll find a large group of lupines blooming along Route 73 just north of Keene Valley. They're on your left if you're headed north toward Lake Placid.
There's another field on Route 86, near the entrance to the golf course.
