See two waterfalls that are off the beaten path.

Grimes Glen Park is a hidden gem located in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. The glen is opened to the public and features two main, around 60 feet high.

The exposed bedrock in the glen is part of the Onondaga Formation and is estimated to be about 380 million years old, making it a point of interest if you love nature and geology.

The Glen is located at the end of Vine Street. There is a sign for Grimes Glen at the corner of Vine Street and Main. There is a parking area at the end of Vine Street, and another sign telling you that you are Grimes Glen.

The trail through Grimes Glen is about a mile long and involves some wading through the creek. You won't be able to avoid getting your feet wet if you want to see the waterfalls, so I recommend packing water shoes or hiking sandals, such as Tevas.

The first waterfall is French Hill Falls. It is about a 0.5 miles from the parking area.

Continue for another 1/4 mile past the first waterfall to reach the second waterfall that drops 60 feet into an ampitheatre.

Past this point, you'll see a sketchy rope that leads up the cliff. This technically leads to another waterfall, but getting there is dangerous and a slip could be fatal. I recommend sticking with the two main waterfalls.
