Auger Falls is a quick and easy hike in Wells, New York. The best way to see this waterfall is via a 3 mile RT scenic hike along Griffin Gorge, where you can hike along the Sacandaga River on a trail lined with wildflowers and rows of lush ferns.

Use extreme caution once you reach the falls because the rocks and hillsides are very slippery, especially if it has recently rained. I've done this hike in hiking sandals, but hiking boots or sneakers with good grip are MUCH better.

Please note that you cannot swim here.

If you're short on time, you can take an even easier 1.3 mile loop that winds through the woods before looping back to the trailhead.
