Brotherhood Winery was established in 1839 and holds the distinction of being America's oldest winery.

Located about 1 hour north of New York City, Brotherhood is an amazing first stop on any Hudson Valley wine road trip.

With its deep-rooted history and commitment to quality, this winery offers a unique experience that combines traditional winemaking techniques with modern innovations.

During your visit, you can explore a diverse selection of wines, ranging from classic reds and whites to crisp rosés, sangria, and sparkling varieties.

Brotherhood Winery offers tours and tastings for $25 a person where you can stroll through their vast network of underground cellars. Excavated by hand in the late 19th century, the dimly lit cellars house over two hundred oak barrels and a crested vault that contains some of the oldest vintage wines in America. It's like stepping into a slice of history.

As you sample their wines in the charming tasting room, you can learn more about the winery's storied history and the winemaking process from the friendly and ultra-knowledgeable staff. When you're done, head to their onsite Restaurant and Bar, aptly named 1839.
