The Museo Etnografico della Lunigiana in Villafranca is a museum in an interesting town with a small medieval section. Here you can find out about the rural life, a life you can still get glimpses of in the hidden valleys.

The museum itself is part of Villafranca's past, it's an old mill by the river beside the main road, easily visible as you drive by.

The museum has four touch-screen multimedia stations scattered about so visitors can see the large collection of audio-visual documents of the Municipal Library that aren't currently on display.

Unfortunately, at this time the Museum is only open when you reserve. See the contact page. The page in English simply tells you the museum is closed, in Italian it provides email and telephone numbers to reserve a visit. Some knowledge of Italian might be required.
