Terrarossa Castle is 16th century fortress located on the old Via Francigena path in the village of Terrarossa. It was built from the foundations by the first Marquis of Terrarossa, Fabrizio Malaspina, in the to serve both residential and defensive functions. Inside the castle, there are 43 rooms in total, with towering walls, bastions, and a beautiful sandstone arched portal. Today, the castle has been restored and you'll find a tourist information office inside.

You can walk from the castle to the town of Aulla via the Greenway Fiume Magra which runs along the old railway right away and follows the Magra river.
