Unique split apple rock formation

Message from Julia Thompson

Split Apple Rock is a cool rock formation off the coast of New Zealand that looks like an apple cut in half. It's made of granite and has a natural split down the middle, giving it its unique shape. Tourists love checking it out, especially at low tide when you can wade out to it. Legend has it that two gods broke the rock apart, adding a bit of mystery to this popular spot for boats and pleasure craft in Tasman Bay.
