Kampa Island in Prague is like a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Tucked away in the Lesser Town neighborhood, this picturesque island offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. With its charming park, historic sites like the Devil's canal, and top-notch restaurants, Kampa Island is the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or a romantic picnic. Don't miss out on the stunning views of the Charles Bridge while you're there!

Explore Kampa

Kampa, often referred to as the "Venice of Prague," is a serene island nestled on the Vltava River's banks, adjacent to the picturesque Lesser Town (Malá Strana). This enchanting area is renowned for its lush park that offers a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle, making it a perfect spot for leisurely walks and picnics. The park is dotted with intriguing sculptures, including works by the famous Czech artist David Černý, adding a modern twist to the historical setting.

At the heart of Kampa is the Kampa Museum, housed in the Sova's Mills on the island's edge. The museum specializes in Central European modern art, showcasing an impressive collection of works from Czech and international artists. The museum's charming courtyard often hosts temporary exhibitions and cultural events, blending art with the scenic beauty of its surroundings.

For tourists, Kampa offers not only cultural enrichment but also some of the most charming views of Prague. The island's grandeur is best appreciated from the Vltava River, with panoramic sights of the Charles Bridge and the Prague Castle. The nearby Lennon Wall, covered in graffiti and lyrics from John Lennon and The Beatles, is a symbol of peace and love, drawing visitors from around the globe.

My TIP

Take a 45-minute fairytale boat cruise to the Devil's Canal and enjoy one of the most romantic boat trips in Prague. Admire medieval houses along the banks of the Vltava River, get a panoramic view of Prague Castle and much more.
