My TIP

You can visit the Mirror Chapel only during regular concerts or, exceptionally, exhibitions. The Baroque library of Klementinum is one of the most beautiful libraries in the world. It is possible to see it during the tour, but it is not allowed to go inside.

Make sure you can manage the tour which goes up and then down the spiral staircase. The area is not wheelchair accessible.

Tickets must be purchased in advance, they tend to sell out.

Explore Klementinum

The Klementinum in Prague is a massive complex of historical buildings that's second only to Prague Castle in size. Founded by the Jesuits in 1556, it has been a hub of education and culture for centuries. The highlight is the National Library, home to over six million documents including ancient Greek papyri. Don't miss the Astronomical Tower for stunning views of Prague, or the Mirror Chapel with its mesmerizing mirrors and frescoes.

Interesting fact

The Klementinum's Astronomical Tower was once used for meteorological observations, starting in 1775, making it the site of the world's longest-running weather recording.
