🇬🇧 This castle was built as early as 1286, as the property of a Croatian noble family that ruled this place during that period. During the Austro-Hungarian rule, some member of the Habsburg family were said to have lived here. Each and every one of those rulers started building new parts of the castle so it's now an interesting mix of medieval and Austro-Hungarian architecture. The last time we were there (May 2023) they had started renovating the castle and castle grounds but the building is still in ruins and entering is at your own risk!

🇩🇪 Die Burg wurde bereits 1286 erbaut und gehörte einer kroatischen Adelsfamilie, die zu dieser Zeit über den Ort herrschte. Während der österreichisch-ungarischen Herrschaft sollen einige Mitglieder der Familie Habsburg hier gelebt haben. Jeder einzelne dieser Herrscher baute neue Teile der Burg, so dass sie heute eine interessante Mischung aus mittelalterlicher und österreichisch-ungarischer Architektur ist. Als wir das letzte Mal dort waren (Mai 2023), hatte man mit der Renovierung der Burg und des Burggeländes begonnen, aber das Gebäude ist immer noch eine Ruine und das Betreten erfolgt auf eigene Gefahr!
