This little cafe in Borðeyri is a cozy spot housed in one of Iceland's oldest buildings, offering a mix of history and charm. With a town population of only 10 people, the cafe is only open 2-5 on most days. Google maps tends to say it is temporarily or permanently closed. The cafe features a handcraft shop for visitors to explore. All the knitted items are made by the owner, we got two pairs of knitted beer coozie mittens! Perfect for a relaxing coffee break or browsing unique local crafts. If you're in the area, Riishús is perfect stop in a road trip for those looking to experience a slice of Icelandic heritage with a modern twist.
