IT🇮🇹 Oatman è una minuscola cittadina tra le Black Mountains che svettano sul Mojave Desert: poco più di mezzo secolo fa era un’ottima base strategica per i minatori (ci sono ancora un paio di miniere attive) e per i cercatori d’oro. A differenza delle altre simili cittadine che ora sono diventate ghost town, Oatman conta ancora oggi un centinaio di abitanti. Oltre a loro qui vive un branco di burros, piccoli asini, discendenti dalle bestie da soma dei minatori che ora vagano liberamente sulla strada principale. Dalle 13:30 alle 15:30 vanno in scena caratteristici spettacoli che vi capatulteranno nel Far West. Proseguendo da Oatman a Kingman viaggerai sulla Bloody 66, una sezione della Route 66 conosciuta per le sue curve tortuose e i panorami mozzafiato. Il nome "Bloody 66" deriva dalle condizioni difficili e insidiose affrontate dai primi viaggiatori che attraversavano questo particolare tratto. Oggi serve a ricordare lo spirito avventuroso e la perseveranza che hanno caratterizzato i primi giorni della Route 66.

EN🇬🇧 Oatman is a tiny town in the Black Mountains that tower over the Mojave Desert: just over half a century ago it was an excellent strategic base for miners (there are still a couple of active mines) and gold seekers. Unlike the other similar towns that have now become ghost towns, Oatman still has a hundred inhabitants today. In addition to them, live here a herd of burros, small donkeys, descended from the miners' beasts of burden who now roam freely on the main road. Continuing from Oatman to Kingman you'll travel on Bloody 66, a section of Route 66 known for its twisting turns and breathtaking scenery. The name "Bloody 66" comes from the difficult and treacherous conditions faced by the first travelers crossing this particular stretch. Today it serves as a reminder of the adventurous spirit and perseverance that characterized the early days of Route 66.
