IT🇮🇹 Se avete visto il film Into The Wild allora probabilmente conoscerete già in parte la storia di Salvation Mountain. Questa colorata montagna fu creata da Leonard Knight, che si stabilì nella vicina Slab City e iniziò il suo progetto per diffondere il suo messaggio cristiano d'amore. Per circa 30 anni lavorò utilizzando materiali di scarto (mattoni di adobe, pneumatici, finestre, parti di automobili) e migliaia di litri di vernice per terminare questa gigantesca opera che riporta 3 grosse parole al centro: "God is Love" (e sparsi attorno molti altri versi della Bibbia). Salvation Mountain è stata sicuramente una delle opere più stravaganti e allo stesso tempo ricche di significato che ho visto nella mia vita. Consiglio assolutamente una deviazione in questa zona anche se un po' fuori mano.

This colorful mountain was created by Leonard Knight, who settled in nearby Slab City and began his project to spread his Christian message of love. For about 30 years he worked using discarded materials (adobe bricks, discarded tires, windows, car parts) and thousands of gallons of paint to finish this giant work that has 3 big words in the center "God is Love" and scattered around many other Bible verses. Salvation Mountain was definitely one of the most extravagant yet meaningful works I have seen in my life. I definitely recommend a detour to this area.
